Talking About Water Sports: More Than Just “Swimming”

Whether you are packing for a beach holiday, preparing for an English speaking exam, or talking about your favorite hobbies, learning water sports vocabulary is very useful. These words often appear in travel conversations, sports topics, holiday plans, and IELTS Speaking questions.

Water sports are activities that take place on, in, or under the water. Some are relaxing, like fishing or swimming, while others are adventurous, like cliff diving, flyboard flying, and canyoning.
